Red Rocking in Sedona
March 6. 2008 by Merilee.
We arrived in Sedona after driving down through Oak Creek Canyon as the snow melted into Oak Creek. This red rock formation is from our campsite. Yes, I have died and gone to heaven.
Decided to stay another week as Brad needs to have dental work done. The natural beauty and the weather are truly amazing here.

Crossroads in Time: Petrified Forest and Painted Desert
March 3. 2008 by Merilee.
It was like traveling back in time to view the painted desert and petrified forest. It staggers the imaginatin to see the colors that developed here over 225 million years.

Over the Arizona state line and into a blizzard
March 2. 2008 by Merilee.
Driving from Silver City NM to Holbrook AZ, we drove into a snow storm with high winds and 26 degrees. We stopped for lunch at 8,800 ft in the national forest and across the mountains we watched the storm come at us. I know what you northerners are thinking, “Isn’t that tough.” Looking forward to celebrating my 8 year cancer survivor anniversary by seeing the Pained Desert and Petrified Forest National Park.
