Kodachrome Basin
April 9. 2008 by Merilee.
Kodachrome Basin was an amazing sight today with dark clouds and snow in the air. The park has over 700 tall “stone pipes” to view. We did not drive the dirt section of Cottonwood Canyon Rd due to it being impassable when wet. Brad did find a jeeper from Colorado to talk off-roading.

Bryce Canyon
April 7. 2008 by Merilee.
Bryce Canyon NP is truly amazing with a palette of colors, shapes, hoodoos, spires, arches, deep caverns, castles and pinnacles. Will explore more of the national park in the coming days. The Paiute Indian legend says an angry coyote spirit turned the people who lived here to stone. Can you see them standing in the canyon?
The weather has been cold and windy and at 7,777 ft were we are staying there is still snow on the ground and in the air this morning.

Towers of Stone
April 4. 2008 by Merilee.
Zion National Park was an awesome surprise around every turn and through every tunnel. The towers of stone in the canyon are immense and beautiful with many textures, shapes and colors. This pic is of the mountain tunnel that is 1.1 miles thru the mountain with a window. Do you see it?

Experiencing the Grand Canyon
April 1. 2008 by Merilee.
We enjoyed a tour on Desert View Drive and Hermit Road. The overlooks were just jaw dropping. The color palette was beautiful. It is amazing what time and water can do to rocks. Words just cannot express the grandeur of the place. It just takes your breath away at every view point.
