It must be South Dakota.  A drive around the Wildlife Loop in the 73,000 acre Custer State Park revealed many grand landscapes and herds of roaming buffalo.  The buffalo herd was on the move with many young “red dogs.”  It was amazing to see the huge animals move across the prairie.

A jet boat tour of the Colorado River south of Moab was simply amazing.  The ride takes you  down past Dead Horse State Park and Canyonlands National Park.  The  red rock scenery was jaw dropping as seen from the water.

Hell’s Revenge is a Moab trail that is known for it’s beauty and it’s difficulty.  Driving on the sheer fins was just an amazing experience. The trail book bills it as “dangerously steep climbs and descents over sandstone domes and ledges.”  Yup it was a sheer fun!

Moab, Utah

We got an early start to the car show in Moab this morning.  Here is a shot of the cars rolling in to park for the day.  With blues skies and lots of sunshine it was a perfect day to enjoy the show.  There was everything from early 1900’s classics, street rods, muscle cars (and they sounded so good on cruise night) customs, trucks, hot rods and more.

Here are a few of my favorites of the day. The Montrose fire engine car was a beauty.

The annual classic car show is this weekend in Moab.  The tradition has all the classics, rat rods and hot rods cruise  Main St. on Friday and Saturday night.  Great fun to watch the show and hear the roar of hot motors and squeal of tires on the pavement. A good time was had by all.

This beauty is called the Cadisaurus.

On a lovely spring day, we took a ride through Kane Creek Canyon and up to Hurrah Pass.  The pass is 5,485 feet of elevation.  This vantage point gives a panoramic view of the Kane Creek Canyon and towards Canyonlands National Park.

The jeep is stopped to enjoy the view and take pictures below Hurrah Pass.
